Washington, DC — July 23, 2019 — AIS Network, an award-winning application developer and secure managed IT services expert serving local, state and federal government, is participating this week in the 2019 NCES STATS-DC Data Conference, July 23-26, in Washington, DC.

AISN co-owner Laurie Head and Bethann Canada, AISN’s senior specialist for business intelligence and analytics, are available to meet with conference attendees and demonstrate the company’s approach to state school report card data visualization. They are demonstrating the Virginia School Quality Profiles, an award-winning online reporting tool that AISN built for the Virginia Department of Education. AISN is poised to release a major update next month. The SQP site has been recognized nationwide and was the recipient of six prestigious awards last year, making it the most decorated public website in Virginia.

“The NCES STATS-DC Data Conference is an opportunity for AISN to share its unique capabilities with data scientists and information management experts from local and state governments across the country as well as the federal government,” said Head.

“We are highlighting some of the distinguishing processes and technologies behind the development of the Virginia School Quality Profiles and offering some best practices for states and localities as they approach redeveloping their own online reporting tools.”

With the SQP, AISN and VDOE leveraged a full suite of current technology products to update and re-engineer a signature initiative for school transparency and accountability. Users from parents to policy makers can now easily view and compare the performance of Virginia schools via a responsive, accessible website displaying dashboards of current data.

The NCES STATS-DC Data Conference, organized by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences, covers a wide array of topics related to educational data collection and reporting; sessions will cover state report cards, Common Core Data, data linking beyond K-12, data privacy, data quality, standards and use, and the Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems.
