RICHMOND, VA. (PRWEB) FEBRUARY 17, 2023
Virginia cybersecurity and IT managed services provider AIS Network has ranked at No. 50 among small employers on this year’s Virginia Business Magazine list of the 100 “Best Places to Work in Virginia.”
The announcement was made at an awards luncheon held earlier this month, where AISN was honored among other top-ranking businesses across the state. The prestigious list, which is compiled annually by Virginia Business in partnership with the independent Best Companies Group, recognizes commonwealth organizations that are dedicated to providing exceptional work environments and fostering a culture of excellence. AISN’s inclusion in the ranking marks a significant milestone for the Virginia SWaM-certified company, which earned this recognition in its first year of eligibility.
“Against the backdrop of a challenging and turbulent global economic climate over the past several years, the steady and impressive growth of our company into one of the fastest-growing organizations in America, while also fostering a supportive and welcoming ‘best places to work’ environment for our largely remote staff, is truly a remarkable accomplishment and an honor,” said AISN CEO Jay Atkinson, who noted that AISN has been ranked for two consecutive years on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies.
Headquartered in Richmond with employees scattered across the state, AISN employs staff across the commonwealth, intentionally keeping jobs and tax dollars in Virginia. Over the last decade, while under the ownership of CEO Jay Atkinson, the small business has rapidly emerged as a leader in IT modernization, including managed services for cybersecurity, cloud, enterprise architecture, award-winning application development and program management. Clients range from Fortune 500 clients and multi-billion-dollar government agencies to organizations spanning multiple industries, including government, education, health care, manufacturing and financial services.
Virginia Business Magazine’s annual, statewide survey and awards program conducted with the Best Companies Group identifies, recognizes and honors the best 100 places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the economy, workforce and businesses in Virginia. AISN placed 50th on the small employers list for 2023. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in the state of Virginia;
- Have at least 15 employees working in the state of Virginia; and
- Be in business a minimum of 1 year.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Virginia and analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the award recipients.
