Richmond, Va. — Oct. 14, 2021 — AIS Network will present the 2021 Equity Impact Award at the 26th Anniversary RVATech Gala tonight. Co-owners Jay Atkinson and Laurie Head founded the award last year and will reveal the second award recipient during the Richmond technology group’s awards ceremony at Maymont Park.
“This is the area’s ‘Academy Awards’ of technology,” Head said, noting that the gala showcases and recognizes individual accomplishments, private and public sector wins, non-profit successes, innovation excellence and growing small businesses. AISN had previously been recognized at the 2017 awards gala.
“Equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion are core values for AISN. We’re delighted that RVATech joins us in celebrating those who share those values in the regional technology community.”
The RVATech Equity Impact Award is “awarded to an individual or team whose leadership and creative use of technology has benefited the environment for equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion in the Richmond metropolitan area or the Commonwealth of Virginia.”
Finalists for the award are Dominion Energy, TMI Consulting and the Virginia Holistic Justice Initiative and CapTech.
RVATech is central Virginia’s “catalyst for technology,” and the gala for the region’s technology community celebrates the many breakthroughs, advancements and outstanding technologists who are driving the area’s technology-based economy.
